Beach traveled to Alaska in 1897 to participate in the Klondike Gold Rush, before becoming a prolific writer of short fiction, novels, articles, plays, and radio plays. The records of Dr. Paul A. Wagner, 9th president of Rollins College, include his inauguration, correspondence, general college affairs, and work with faculty, students, staff, and the Board of Trustees during his brief tenure from 1949 to 1951. The bulk of the collection focuses on the controversial dismissal of President Wagner by the Board of Trustees in 1951, including various written statements from faculty and students as well as numerous newspaper clippings on the affair.
